Behavior and Drops
The armadillo is a timid, passive mob that runs away from attacks; players can breed them. Players must feed two armadillos spider eyes in order for them to reproduce; prior to the addition of this mob, most people didn’t really use this item.
Not only is the armadillo notable for its presence in the mob, but it also gave an item when rubbed. The armadillo scute is a new item that can only be obtained from this creature. It is essential for creating the new wolf armor.

The armadillo in the Bedrock beta of Minecraft 1.20.60.23 exhibits an intriguing behavior whereby it will drop armadillo scutes indefinitely when brushed by the player, but at the expense of rapidly wearing down the brush.
It’s unclear if this is a deliberate attempt at mob farming or if there is a glitch that could be resolved in a later beta. It’s unclear because the patch notes state that these features are still in the early stages of development.

Only the owner of the armor is able to put it on a tamed wolf after it has been obtained. To do this, just perform a right-click on the wolf while holding the armor. The wolf’s armor isn’t as strong as the player’s, and it falls off when the wolf dies. Using shears, players can also take off the equipped armor.
