New update of Hi-Fi Rush Arcade Challenge is here. The excellent Hi-Fi Rush has been fairly cautious about post-launch updates up until this point. With the exception of the introduction of Photo Mode, updates have mainly focused on adding new costumes for Chai and his eclectic group of companions to wear.
But only today did Bethesda and Tango Gameworks finally reveal a sizable new update for players to put their skills to the test. It goes by the name “Arcade Challenge! Update!,” and it adds two new modes that explore Hi-Fi Rush’s electrifying, rhythmic combat in greater detail. Once it hits the stage on July 5, players can rock out with this update.
BPM Rush is one of the exciting new game modes available, and it will test players’ ability to keep up with the beat. As usual, players engage in wave after wave of enemy combat, but the BPM, or beats per minute, gradually increases. Eventually, the pace of battles will pick up and surpass anything in the base game.
The mode is introduced in the Hi-Fi Rush Arcade Challenge update trailer with the phrase “You want a Turbo Mode?,” which seems to be a pretty direct allusion to the Devil May Cry mode of the same name.

The other mode, “Power Up! Tower Up!,” offers a variant of the Rhythm Tower mode that you can acquire in the base game. Like before, you scale up floors filled with waves of enemies, but this time Chai must start out completely powerless.
You will receive randomized upgrades as you complete the different floors, which will gradually restore Chai’s fighting form.
In addition to the customary costumes, the most recent Hi-Fi Rush update has a tonne of other entertaining little features. For instance, in addition to the few variants added in the Rhythm Tower, the new modes add brand-new, upgraded versions of enemies from the base game.
Even some new Special Attacks that utilize CNMN and, surprisingly, Smidge, the tutorial bot from the main campaign, are included in the update.
